Good Friday Tenebrae Service

Good Friday Tenebrae

This Good Friday Tenebrae is a simple, moving, but somewhat different service. It's format is a 32-page booklet with the first page blank so that the user can use a pre-printed bulletin or use a church-specific picture and/or text as the first page.
The format of the service is a narrative, scripture reading, hymn, … The passion story itself comes from the gospel of John. There is no sermon; the service itself is the sermon.
The service is both new and traditional.  Most folks will learn something new but yet recognize and appreciate much that they remember.
The service is intended to be printed as a brochure/booklet landscape on legal 8 1/2 x 14" paper.  Add your own cover and credits to the front. Replace the last page artwork with your own announcements.
The service is available in .pdf and .odt file formats.  The .odt is an Open Office Writer format.  Open Office is free open source software that "competes" with Microsoft Office and is available at www.openoffice.org.  Use the .odt if you wish to make changes to the service.  Use the .pdf to keep your life a bit simpler.
The requirements for the service are 2 people to read, 1 accompanist, and a candle holder for the 7 candles. All of the hymns are in the public domain.
This file is the entire service in .pdf format.
